D&F has developed a method for gaining insight into the safety culture at a company or an organisation, based on the many safety culture analyses that we’ve already carried out. Thanks to our Safety Climate Barometer®, we can analyse safety culture at your organisation in one day (depending on the size of your organisation) and make a broad assessment of it.
Do you ever get the feeling that:
If you answered “Yes” to one or more of the above, there might be room for improvement in the safety culture at your company. In that case, it would be a good idea to start by analysing the current safety culture at your company and using our Safety Climate Barometer® scores to make it transparent. We regard these scores for the safety culture analysis as a baseline measurement. The analysis can be carried out every year, which will enable us to assess the progress made.
We use our Safety Climate Barometer® in various ways in practice. This depends on the size of your company measured in the number of employees. We can use questionnaires on paper to carry out the safety culture analysis at companies with up to 50 employees, but D&F advises you to use the Safety Climate Barometer® online if your company has 50 or more employees.
We send an e-mail to your employees inviting them to visit the web-based tool. This tool is customised for your organisation so that it will look familiar to your employees.
Employees can answer the questions online after they have opened the website. These questions assess their perception of safety at the company.
The online tool enables us to make a quick and efficient report of the analysis. Another advantage to this online tool is that a time analysis can be made which compares results - either from the same organisation or from different parts of the organisation - obtained over the years.
Although the questionnaire is anonymous, there is an option for requesting classification data such as job level and section and/or geographical location. This will enable you to compare different branches or jobs at your organisation.
D&F sets out the results of the safety culture analysis using the Safety Climate Barometer® in a clear and concise report. This report contains the findings and recommendations which fit in best with prevailing opinions and situations in order to change people’s behaviour. The report gives the scores for the following 8 areas:
Please feel free to contact us if you’d like D&F to carry out a safety culture analysis at your company. The usual procedure is to make an appointment with one of our consultants and tell them about your specific case. Safety culture is different at each company, so each company requires a different approach. We always tailor a safety culture analysis to suit your own needs.
