Hazardous substances and the environment

D&F works in technical environments, particularly in the industrial and logistics sector because it is these very sectors where hazardous substances may be used. The risks involved here are fire, explosion, poisoning or radiation. Besides the immediate risks for employees, there are also environmental requirements for hazardous substances in force.

There are considerable risks attached to the manufacture, storage and handling of large quantities of hazardous substances, and this is most definitely the case if they are not treated with the utmost care and regard for safety. Some examples are:

  • The Enschede fireworks disaster in 2000
  • The fire at the Moerdijk industrial estate in January 2011


Hazardous substances policy
