Process Safety

The government has formulated Process Safety-related requirements in laws and regulations such as SEVESO III, for pressure equipment (the PED EU directive) or ATEX. We will help you to comply with these regulations during the life cycle of an installation (from design up to dismantling). In addition, we can also help you with various risk studies, including QRA, HAZOP, HAZID SWIFT, FME(C)A, SIL studies and LOPA. We also offer support in the design of pressure analyses and relief valve scenarios.

Process Safety Management (PSM) is not only about technical safety aspects but more importantly it is about the assurance of organisational safety risks as part of your safety management and control system. For example, consider the risks of an improperly arranged MOC programme, maintenance/inspection programme, a work permit system or a lack of assurance and control systems. In total, more than 20 separate elements can be distinguished in a safety management and control system that contribute to the process safety of your installation. D&F can help in the set-up or improvement of a proper safety management and control system. We are also at your service for support with Audits/ Assessments, Due Diligence and Incident Analysis.

A particular expertise within process safety is explosion safety (ATEX). Explosion hazard can occur at every company where flammable gases, liquids or powders are used. D&F can help you with the hazard and risk analysis, required zoning, the ignition source analysis and the Explosion Safety document.

Our Safety Academy contains a comprehensive selection of training programmes regarding process safety and ATEX varying between basic and advanced levels. The D&F training institute is officially acknowledged by ATEX Foundation.
